General Counsel
Robert Scott is a corporate and media lawyer with 25 years’ experience practicing primarily in the United States. Prior to joining Maven as General Counsel in 2017, Robert worked with a variety of public and private companies, start-ups and individuals in connection with business structuring, financings, acquisitions and operations.
Robert began his career as a lawyer with Minter Ellison in Australia, before joining the corporate finance department of Shearman & Sterling LLP in New York in 2000, where he worked on large, multi-jurisdictional financings, representing both issuers and underwriters. He later moved to King & Spalding LLP, where he spearheaded a variety of public and private financings and restructuring transactions, and in 2006 launched a boutique practice in New York City primarily servicing venture-backed and growth companies.
Robert serves as Secretary and a Director of the Robot Heart Foundation, a renowned music and arts public charity. Robert is admitted to practice in New York, New South Wales and Western Australia, and holds a Bachelor of Commerce degree and a Bachelor of Laws degree (with First Class Honors) from the University of Western Australia.
